I’m thirteen years old, 96.5 pounds, 5 foot, 1 inch. Up until now, I’ve shopped in the girls’ department. Should I start shopping in the juniors?

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I started when I was 11, 4″7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND BTW, YOU ARE NOT TOO SHORT!!!!!!!!!!! I STARTED WHEN I WAS 4′7 AND I WAS AN XS!!!!!! YOU WILL FIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should try Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle, Aeropostale, Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, Delia’s, Anchor Blue, Wet Seal, Macy’s, Kohl’s, and JCPenney.

There isn’t any reason you shouldn’t.

yes. sometimes the girls department has some cute stuff, but mostly everything is cuter for a 13-year-old in the jr.’s department.

if you cant find anything in the girls that fits you or that you like anymore you can try the jrs dept, it will vary from store to store what you can find though.

and please dont get anything too ******!

missashley21 on 15 September, 2008 at 10:16 pm #

Of course! i started shopping in the junior department around that age too.

Ya. You will just have to get tiny sizes. Try aeropostale, khols, target, and american eagle

Yeah if you want to. But if you still like the clothes in the kids department then don’t shopping there. Sometimes the clothes in juniors’ aren’t that great for preteens because they’re targeted for older girls.

Yes if you’re thirteen it’s about time you start shopping in the juniors section.

fofodos on 21 September, 2008 at 11:44 am #

Yes, because you are big enough for the smaller sizes and the styles will be more suitable for a thirteen-year-old.

cassidy_loves_colors on 24 September, 2008 at 5:01 am #

Yes. That’s when I started to shop in juniors. I am about 5′1 too, and right about 100 pounds. The clothes fit me fine. Don’t let people tell you otherwise.

I started shopping in the Jr’s department when I was 10, probably about the height you are now, but much fatter. Skipped right over the 0’s and 1’s and went straight to the 3’s. I didn’t have a curvy body, so the clothes fit weird, but I suffered through for another year or two until I got the body that would fit into those clothes. Of course, Hollister wasn’t cool back then, so I didn’t have the options of their jeans.

And I left the girl’s department at such a young age because I was a chunky kid until about 7th grade and I was really tall, so it just didn’t fit.

I left for fit reasons, but I was also a big kid, so I guess you could leave it if you wanted more options style wise. You’ll have no problem getting in with these 00 and XXS sizes that wasn’t around when I was that young.

Yeah.. really

If you’re shopping in kids, you’re dressing like a 7 y/o.

Dude, you’re too old to be shopping in kids
